Feature Request: Built-In Updater

It would be great if VTM had a built-in updater that automatically downloads and installs the latest release from the official source. This could include an optional backup of the current version and a simple --update command to keep VTM up-to-date easily.

I agree, this would be a useful feature. Thank you. Perhaps this could be made available only to statically linked vtm builds, which are used without any package managers.

I'll most likely implement this after I finish the GUI mode for Linux and macOS. By then, the full range of dependencies will be visible, and it will be clear how to implement the self-updating functionality. I can't say when this will happen right now, since I can't even estimate how long it will take to implement the GUI modes.
