• decorate API responses with the appropriate headers
• provide hooks for API requests to reject calls to APIs where the deprecation timestamp is in the past

And in OpenAPI::Modern itself, consider providing a mechanism for getting a list of APIs that are deprecated or expired, using various search criteria
