how to ignore absolute paths?

I want fd to ignore /.snapshots directory and all its descendants. Expected following ~/.config/fd/ignore to do the trick, but nothing's ignored:

/.snapshots/

Only if it's globbed from the front end does it work: */.snapshots/.

Is there a way to define absolute paths to ignore?

Note ripgrep allows defining it via a glob, e.g. --glob=!{/.snapshots,/home/.snapshots}
