Hi, I'm Juan-Pablo, a software writer from Perú. 👋

I've been building open-source Python tools for over 15 years. Right now my main focus is

Proper — a Rails-like, opinionated, batteries-included Python web framework. It pulls together two other libraries I maintain:

  • Jx — a novel approach to server-side templates using components, similar to what React is for the frontend. (Successor to JinjaX, which is used by 400+ projects).

  • Formidable — a small but powerful library for rendering and processing web forms.

I also started Copier, the project templating tool, which is now community-maintained and used by thousands of projects.
