Mac M3 Max: dmg damaged and cannot be opened

Really excited to try out SwamClaw.

Got this “SwarmClaw” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

Refused to install it no matter what I do.

I'm going to download the source and try building using xcode locally.

Thanks for the detailed report and for digging in with a local build.

v1.5.51 adds ad-hoc code signing so the bundle identifier is sealed as ai.swarmclaw.desktop with all resources sealed. Most of the time this changes the first-launch prompt from "damaged" to the friendlier "unidentified developer" dialog, which you can clear with right-click then Open.

If macOS still flags the dmg as damaged on your M3 Max (common when Safari attaches com.apple.quarantine), strip it and relaunch:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SwarmClaw.app

Grab the arm64 dmg from the v1.5.51 release when it lands and let us know if this clears it for you. Proper Developer ID signing plus notarization is on the roadmap so neither step is needed eventually.

Ended up trying it initially with building myself.

The same problem happened in 1.5.66.

Steps:

1. Download the arm64.dmg
2. Open it
3. Drag to applicatino
4. Open spotlight find by typing "swarm" then click enter
5. Damaged message is shown.

Running the command you gave above made it possible open
