Yes. I have tried the latest release, but the bug still exist.

What happened?

Up until Ventoy 1.1.09, ventoygui would open just fine under wayland (and not even use xwayland)

After 1.1.10, it refuses to open after authentication via polkit succeeds

Interestingly, 1.1.09 still works fine and gparted has the same issue (but works just fine with sudo -E gparted)

I am having the same issue on Hyprland but I found that using sudo ventoyweb starts the Ventoy webserver and it works from the browser.

You can also use the cli, that's not my point

This is what I did to resolve it on one of my arch systems

mkdir -p ~/.local/bin ~/.local/share/applications

# 1. Create the wrapper script

chmod +x ~/.local/bin/ventoygui-wayland

# 2. Patch the local desktop file
cp /usr/share/applications/ventoy.desktop ~/.local/share/applications/
sed -i "s|^Exec=.*|Exec=$HOME/.local/bin/ventoygui-wayland|" ~/.local/share/applications/ventoy.desktop
update-desktop-database ~/.local/share/applications
